Economic and social added-value in energy SYMBIOSis of waste heat valorisation in industrial surroundings (SYMBIOS)
Descripción
Títol de l'acció: Economic and social added-value in energy SYMBIOSis of waste heat valorisation in industrial surroundings (SYMBIOS)
Localització: Castellbisbal
Tipus de col·laboració: Aprofitament conjunt de calor residual
Estat: En estudi
Resum: The European Industrial Sector is responsible for almost 40% of the total final energy demand, highlighting the urgent necessity of new effective solutions ready for being implemented in the industrial environment with the purpose to optimize its energy efficiency and operational costs. In this view, Industrial Symbiosis has been acknowledged to represent a key opportunity at local, national and international level for implementing sustainable development and as broad contribution to economic growth. In this context, SYMBIOS proposes an innovative, practical and effective solution for large scale implementation of industrial heat symbiosis in European industrial parks, starting from an archetype case study implementation within the multifunctional industrial park of Castellbisbal (Barcelona, Spain). SYMBIOS will take advantage of previous experiences all around the world of industrial heat symbiosis and it will contribute to both the knowledge and its application potentiality by proposing a new platform for waste heat mapping, management, control and optimization, implementing thermal energy storage and high temperature heat pumps, and integrated within a societal engagement and microclimate improvement platform, able to quantify both the technical-economic and the environmental wellbeing benefits associated to industrial heat symbiosis. In practice, the new heat network will achieve 40% of waste heat recovery at high temperature (300°C) from CELSA and 100% energy savings at BASF, in Castellbisbal. Moreover, it will demonstrate the economic competitivity of the intervention. In fact, novel industrial heat symbiosis specific certified business models will support its large-scale implementation.
Objectius / reptes: to demonstrate the recovery, storage and reuse of waste heat from streams of an industrial site
Descripció / solució: Waste heat from industrial sites is possible to recover and reuse at the same industry or in its surroundings (being an industrial park, another industry or in buildings or municipalities)
Resultats: El projecte no ha estat concedit, no hi ha cap resultat previ.
